I bought this book recently after flattering references to the same in Dr. Koppikar's "Clinical Experiences - 70 Years in Homeopathy".

Dr. Koppikar writes of Dr. Chaudhuri, "He was the most wonderful lecturer on Materia Medica picturising every keynote, if possible with an example of a patient. His weekly lecture hour where he took only one main remedy for the entire session, was a superb comparative study of numerous remedies. This was an improvement on Allens Keynotes and Farrington, with his expperience on this......His 'A Study of Materia Medica' is a masterpiece of lectures and comparisons."

Coming from the most experienced practitioner of Homeopathy, these words naturally engendered in me the desire to get a copy. And what a delightful reading it has been since then!

Leafing through the pages of this wonderful compilation leaves one much wiser about our vast materia medica. Every remedy is discussed in a narrative form with the symptoms explained in a language that is easy to grasp and a style that makes it easy to visualize the most important aspects. All major symptoms are explained in detail and points of differentiation clearly explained with remedies producing similar symptoms. This books contains in itself the distillation of the varied approaches of teaching MM proposed by masters like Nash, Farrington and Allen. Add to that notes from the practice of Dr. Choudhury along with cured cases by masters alongside most remedies and you have an excellent book of MM.

I strongly recommend this book to every student of Homeopathy. This book stands right up there along with classics like Farrington's, Nash's, Kent's and Tyler's Materia Medicas.

Agree ! I really enjoy working with it and especially like all the cases - these make the book a very practical, educational and recommendable tool.

Tell me please, is it a study of Materia Medica sequenced in alphabetical order, or in another order, secretly determined by being in accordance with healthy thinking processes.  I wish to find such a volume, or set of volumes, as I am quite certain in this myself, that the sequences we learn the medicines in, have the potential to influence our learning capacity, and practice.

Perhaps each one of us, must learn the medicines in the exact correct sequence for a cure of our own inherited miasmatic influences.  Which lead me to want to find the way the best of teachers in homeopathy will sequence what remedy to learn next.  I prescribe for myself and my sons, who engage in this process with me as a family, and this is how I have developed my point of view.

This book is in alphabetical order.

You may like to go through Nash's MM and Farrington's lecture for the free flowing style you are looking for. Good luck! thumbs-up
