From a learners perspective, i would recommend "Principles of Anatomy and Physiology by Gerard J. Tortora and Sandra Reynolds Grabowski".

I've got two editions of this one. And really love it to the present day: "The Guyton"!

As drofart suggested, I'll also suggest Principles of Anatomy and Physiology by Gerard J. and Sandra Reynolds. It's the best book for you.

i assume you have passed your first year, but as the questions stays and helps others in guidance for the future here are some best books

1.semulingham : preferred by medical students all over india .

2.Chatterjee : This book was used by medical students when my father was a student himself,it was popular and according to me it is better than sembu but it is not colorful and hence boring.

3.Guytan :by all standards this is the best book on physiology on planet earth,it covers topics which other books don't cover.Guyton covers tip to toe topics whereas other books are practical approach oriented or syllabus oriented. So if you really want to ace in physiology you better love this maroon hulk[we called it in our med college days]

4. But if you want to study whole physiology in 4 days in crisis mode, there is this 90 rs book called 'saha's physiology'' not good for a medical student ,but as bear grills says ''it is not good but sometimes great in survival mode''

HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY 6Ath ADITION

BY JOHN

I have read almost all the books above mentioned but I found this one the most .... and yes the most easy and the most professional book. I am in love with this book perhaps.
