Hi there. I am 28 years old and having troubles absorbing enough potassium and holding on to it. This started about 5 months ago when I accidentally used liquorice and it lowered my potassium so dangerous levels. When I realized what had happened, I supplemented with potassium chloride to get my levels back up. But all the sudden I couldn’t retain it. I spent the next few months taking potassium chloride every 4 hours to keep my levels up. I recently worked on lowering my aldosterone levels and have had better luck, and am off the potassium supplements but still having a hard time absorbing enough from food (I eat alot if high potassium foods.) The main symptom I get when I’m low is heart palpitations and a hard beating heart. I generally don’t get leg cramps or any other symptoms, but my muscles might be a bit tighter than normal. I feel really normal other than the low potassium levels. I’ve read that the Kali family can help the body absorb potassium from foods, but I don’t know which remedy or how to take it. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
