Hi Doctors!

Any help is appreciate. Please help my father in law who lately has been ill with frequency.

For your ease of use, fill the following questionnaire.

Please give as much information as you can. Never feel that you’re
“talking too much”.  Avoid technical/medical language. Talk in your own words.

Please, note that I (Joana) am writing for my father in law. He doesn’t speak any English, so I am translating it. I guess, he has not talked like he would with a doctor. I am sure there are missing information. For example, in the question about siblings he doesn’t mention about his dead sun. So I describe (*) the case so you know. Other than that, I am only translation his words.

Sex: male

Age: 69

Marital status: married

Children: 3

Occupation: retired

Habits(like smoking/ alcohol/ tobacco, partying etc): walking, jogging, alcohol (sometimes)

1) Family Medical History:

Father: prostatic hyperplasia

Mother: diabetes
Grandparents: don’t remember

2 of 4 siblings are diabetic. And another one has high blood pressure.

Daughter: very bad constipation

*One of my sun passed out after an allergic reaction caused by anesthesia. He had appendix crises, went to the hospital for surgery and died.

2) Patient’s Medical History: (Include vaccination history and the
reactions to them if any)

Major illnesses(Chronologically):

When I was 6 or 7 I had appendicitis. I went through surgery to take it off. A little after that I had very bad allergic crises where all my face swelled. Cause: unknowned

high blood pressure

prostatic hiperplasia

skin – a little thorax spot that and my dermatologist took it off for me.

phlebitis (another doctor called it thrombosis)

herps zoster

Today I am going through a very bad lumbar crises. I am on vacation, sleeping in a very soft bad for almost a week and yesterday I went down to wash my feet (during bath) and I felt a very strong pain right sided. Now I am taking corticoid, analgesic and anti-inflammatory.

Joana talking again: Yesterday he took 2 drops of rhus tox 6ch. But I still haven’t heard about him today. So I don’ know about his reaction on this remedy.

Now that I live in Fortaleza (a beach city, much calmer than the city I’ve lived before called Sao Paulo) I am not constipated anymore (I used to be) Now I only get constipated every time I am on vacation. Ever since I moved to Fortaleza my eating habits and life style have changed profoundly. So when I am on vacation all my eating and physical exercises change, then I get constipated and have to take allopathic medicine.

Colds and flus:

I used to get a lot of flu. Now, I am taking propolis every day and it seems to have taken care of this problem. I sometimes feel I am getting a cold, but it doesn’t happen and I think it’s because of propolis.

10 years ago, I started to develop varicose veins and one year ago I had my first crises of phlebitis (it was 3 crises of phlebitis already) and 3 months ago I had herpes zoster which I still feel reminiscent pain from it.

Operations (if any chronologically):

Appendix and cataract

Present medication:
combodart (prostate)

Previous medication:
Aciclovir (herps zoster) and xarelto (plebitis) are the most recent ones. I don’t remember others before that. But I am new in homeopathy. My method of treatment until now has been alophaty.

3) a) Present your Complaints in order of priority:(Give as much information as you can in your own words without much reference to medical and technical terms.)
Remaining pain from herps zoster in thorax region on the right side. It’s a bearable pain and it is not continuous. It’s  touch sensitive.

  1. b) Can you connect these complaints to any other events? What was going on in your life personally, physically, emotionally, socially, environmentally when the complaints came on?
I don’t see any link with any event from past, except chicken pox from my childhood. My doctor told me that chichen pox viruses gets incubated until a new manifestation generates herps zoster. My doctor also told me that it can be caused by low resistance.
  2. c) What are the things, which aggravate your suffering and which are those, which make you feel better? Example- time, temperature, pressure, rubbing, washing, eating, tight clothing, movement, climate, music, consolation, thunderstorm, exam or other important events, smell, noise, light etc. Are you worse on any particular side of the body ?
About herpes zoster: When I wake up it’s worse. After I move a little bit and my body get started the pain goes off. Then I only feel pain with pressure from touch in the region and when I am getting dressed. The rubbing of the clothes causes pain. And when I am in the car and it goes through a whole in the floor or a curve. I guess, it’s causes by rubbing and shaking, but not motion cause after herpes zoster I took physical exercises and I can do it with no problem.

It’s worse on the Right side.

4) Physical Profile:

Colour of hair: blonde. Now it’s grey and I have only a few left (losing hair progressively).

Colour of eyes: greenish brown (I, Joana, think it’s brown)

Skin: white

Complexion: white

Build: moderate bellied, thin legs

Posture: normal
Height: 1m 80cm. But now I have 1.78 (I am getting smaller)

Weight: 82kg

hand nails: rough, full of stripes

feet nails: they are strange. They are mostly yellowish, sometimes whitish but I went to the dermatologist and he told me I don’t have a ringworms or any kind of funghus or bacteria or any other illness in it.

5) Mental Profile:

  1. a) Describe yourself in your own words:
    a bit shy and introverted.

  2. b) Any grief, broken relationship, any anger/resentment against anybody, any fears, any phobias?

Footbal obsessed.

Cockroach Fear.

(*) Hi, it’s Joana talking again. Here, instead of talking about his dead sun, he talks about soccer.

So I will tell a few things I now: When his sun died he got badly sad. The only thing I know is that he had suffer a lot and got religious after he started to get better.

  1. c) Do you have any strange, peculiar or unusual symptom or feelings? How are you different from others?
I am authentic, true and have no patience with hypocrisy, arrogance and falsehood
    8) What do you crave for in food items and in general and what are your aversions in food items and in general?

Love sweets. Hate seafood (I like fish though)

Little appetite, rarely thirsty

10) Describe your sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
Are there any Recurring or significant dreams?
I sleep on my side, 5 hours per night.

Joana talking: It doesn’t matter what time he goes to bed he always wake up around 5:30 am. Frequently he sleeps fewer hours than he should and he is always tired and sleepy. His sun thinks he does that because of his religion that believes a good cristian has to wake up very early.

11) Describe about discharges (colour/odour/consistency)? [ Nasal, from ear or sweat (where do you sweat more? head/trunk/limbs etc), stool and urine.]
I sweat a lot on head.

12) what is your preference—in climate, weather? (Examples: sun/shade/cold
dry/cold damp/hot humid/not extreme/well ventilated)
well ventilated, sunny but under the shadow.

13) Other details you want to say or if there are any peculiar things going on in your physical or emotional plane.

Nothing to say.
