Forum Rules & Etiquette
In order to keep the forums healthy and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules.
We request all Hpathy members to follow normal etiquette in their posts. The discussions may become heated at times but they should not become personal fights or abusive. While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, unwarranted discussion of personalities, personal attacks and purposeless or inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, short nonsense posts, or the like.
Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.
Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system in a manner that breaches these Rules.
We do not allow posts that violate Hpathy community standards. The Hpathy team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and does not violate community standards.
Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
We will not tolerate blatant adverts except in the Commercial Forum.
We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
We also reserve the right to ban anyone who willfully violates the forum rules.
Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
Any threads/posts that breach these Rules will be deleted.
Please do not use the PM system to report posts to moderators. The Report Post button is available for this purpose, and itself should only be used with discretion; in obvious cases that we might have missed (i.e. several days have passed with no action; or some member has posted something very offensive calling for immediate action).
Please understand that the Report Post button is not, however, there as a method for members to suggest how to moderate. If this becomes a habit for any member, it will be viewed as trolling.
Please direct the focus to participation on the board, and not on how the board is moderated.
Threads, private messages or emails to members that advertise or solicit any products or services are not permitted except in the Commercial Forum. Explicit advertising in signatures is also prohibited.
Links in Signature
Links in signatures must follow these guidelines:
Linking to a commercial product/service by new members with less than 50 posts is not acceptable. People registering just to get backlinks through the signatures would be quickly shown the door and their posts will be deleted.
Promotional text for a commercial product or service is not permitted.
A link and promotional text for a site that is not commercial is allowed, provided the site does not violate Hpathy community standards. The Hpathy team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.
Duplicate links to the same URL in a sig are not allowed.
More than one URL in a sig is not allowed.
We reserve the right to edit or delete a signature that we find goes against Hpathy rules in general.
Signature Size Limits
All signatures should not exceed the following size limits, and you can’t have both text and images
For text signatures: 4 lines normal size or small size and up to 90 chars per line. Font sizes above 2 are not allowed. (Blank lines count as lines.)
Images in signatures: Not Allowed
Animated images in sigs are not allowed
Additional Guidelines for Patients/Patient Guidance Forums
This forum has been started for patients who seek advice regarding homeopathic treatment. Please keep the following points in mind while you post here –
1. Hpathy.com advises against seeking treatment through online open forums. You may ask for guidance or discuss your case here but we do not encourage getting treatment through online forums. Homeopathy is a demanding therapy and usually requires personal consultation for proper treatment. We recommend that you should consult a homeopath in person to get proper treatment and advice. Hpathy.com, its owners, administrators, editors and moderators will not be responsible for any consequences arising from your posting your medical history in these open forums.
2. Patients should think twice before revealing their details online. Any information that you post here is in public domain and might be misused by someone.
3. Posts from the forum topics/threads to which other member’s have contributed will not be deleted. If you are concerned about privacy, you should not post any identifiable details on an open discussion forum.
4. Homeopaths who reply to patient’s queries should not throw medicines in the ring without having a proper case. Any person giving medical/homeopathic advice to anyone will have to give proper reasons for their selection of remedy and potency or their advice. Just saying “Take a dose of Belladona 30” or “Try a dose of Lycopodium 200” will not do. You will need to explain your remedy and potency selection (through reportorial rubrics and totality, excerpts from materia medica or previous posts etc.).
Also, if you disagree with someones suggestion, you cant just say, I dont agree with this suggestion. You will need to specify why you disagree. We intend that the discussion in the patient guidance forum must be used to improve the knowledge of the patients and the homeopaths here. We will try to delete all such posts that do not confirm to this rule, even if the suggestions are correct.
Any person found suggesting combination medicines or multiple medicines or making suggestions without having proper case details is liable to receive suspension. All remedy and potency suggestions should be justifiable.
4. All professional members posting at the patient guidance forum will have to add their real name, qualification, location and website (if any) to their signatures. This is compulsory.
5. Lastly, Hpathy.com does not encourage treatment and follow-up through these open forums. Hpathy.com is in no way responsible for any medical or health advice given by one forum member to another forum member. Hpathy does not moderate the posts in respect to quality of advice offered. The moderation is limited to ensuring that the general forum rules and etiquettes are followed. Please consult your homeopath or general physician in person before taking any medicines (conventional, homeopathic, herbal etc.) or following any diet/exercise regimen. Also consult your general physician in person before stopping any medical treatment you are currently taking. Hpathy.com just provides a technical platform for people to exchange information and to engage in discussions.
Thank you for following these Rules.

Some Words of Advice
Dear Hpathy Members,
The Hpathy Forums are primarily meant for discussions related to homeopathy. The Hpathy Forums are increasingly becoming the place-of-choice for the homeopathic community to mingle and discuss the issues related to the art and science of homeopathy.
There are a lot of professional homeopaths visiting the forums. These people who give their valuable time to useful discussions and in giving genuine advice to the needy are the backbone of these forums. If you are a professional homeopath, we urge you to come forward and share your knowledge with your colleagues and other people who come here for finding information about homeopathy. Your words and experiences can help many people! The professional homeopaths have also been given a dedicated forum – The Professional Forum – to discuss their cases and technical questions among themselves. The Pro’s are requested to join the professional forum.
Then there are lots of patients visiting these forums. They usually come here looking for information about the basics of homeopathy or how homeopathy can help them in their disease condition. Many of them even ask for advice here. These are open forums and we cannot regulate every post here. It is your judgment to seek advice from anyone posting here. But a word of caution – Use your discretion while asking for any medical advice. You can find professional homeopaths who come forward to help you genuinely and you can also come across people who are not sincere in their advice. Please see the background of the person who gives advice to you and double-check before following any medical advice.
Another breed that often comes here, is that of skeptics. People, who do not believe in homeopathy, consider it a hoax, a placebo effect and what not. We even welcome such people – IF – they come here with an open mind – to discuss not to argue. We can share each other’s views, discuss the methods used in homeopathy and conventional medicine, their pros and cons, their logic, scientific basis, results and so on. We may not always agree but with constructive dialogue we can all learn from each other. The only condition is that such people will have to shed their prejudice first, be open to experience and do not limit themselves to the theory. There is more to homeopathy than what meets the eyes. If skeptics are open to clinical experiences and homeopaths are open to discuss their approach toward science and logic, we both can enrich ourselves. We all can work on the theories we believe in but it is not necessary that difference in approach should always breed bitterness.
Lastly, there is a sect called TROLLS – people who are here just to have fun at the cost of others, whose only motive is to disrupt useful discussions, spread lies and mislead people. We have a policy to deal with a strict hand with such people but still the advice for everyone else is to just ignore such people. They crave attention and lack of attention will just kill them. Any discussion with them is not worth it! Here is a quote that just fits these trolls –
I learned a long time ago never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty and besides, the pig likes it! – Cyrus Ching
To close, let me say these are ‘discussion’ fourms. Use them to discuss and improve your knowledge. People often do not realize when they stop discussing and start arguing. Let me quote Shiv Khera on this –
What is the Difference between an Argument and a Discussion?
An argument throws heat; a discussion throws light.
One stems from ego and a closed mind whereas the other comes from an open mind.
An argument is an exchange of ignorance whereas a discussion is an exchange of knowledge.
An argument is an expression of temper whereas a discussion is an expression of logic.
An argument tries to prove who is right whereas a discussion tries to prove what is right.
A Notice to Skeptics & Trolls
If you are a skeptic (of homeopathy) and/or a troll, then these words are for you.
Please do not use these forums to debate whether homeopathy works or not. The homeopaths here have better things to do then to engage in any futile debates with you. If, to prove that homeopathy doesn’t work or is unscientific, is the only mission of your life, then please GO AWAY. Get your own site and forum and write whatever you wish to. Homeopaths here have better and more important things to do. If you do not leave politely, you will be shown the door. The choice is yours!
This forum is FOR homeopaths and homeopathy. If you are really that serious about homeopathy, go get enrolled in a 4 year course and then come back to discuss homeopathy.
I also request homeopaths to not reply to any enciting or bait like posts from skeptics and trolls. All such posts should be immediately reported to the forum administrators.

The membership structure for Hpathy Forums is:
- Member – default level on registration
- Patient – for patients/attendants looking for guidance regarding homeopathy.
- Professional – for qualified and registered homeopathy physicians.
- Moderators – for volunteer team members working to build Hpathy further.
‘Member’ will be the default level on registration.
All the forums are visible (but not accessible) to everyone. The General forums will be accessible to all.
Patients needing professional advice will need to request an upgrade of membership to the ‘Patient’ group. Only members of the patient and professional groups will be able to access the patient forums.
Professional homeopaths will be able to access the professional forums. They will need to get their membership upgraded to the Professional Group for that.
A ‘Member’ would have access to the general forums.
A ‘Professional’ would have access to General+Student+Professional forums.
The Hpathy Team has access to all the forums.
How to get your membership upgraded?
If you are a professional homeopath, there are two ways to get your membership upgraded. You can either send us the following details:
Your Hpathy user name, Full name, address, qualification in homeopathy, registration body, registration number, clinical experience and name and email of one professional reference.
If you have made at least 25 posts in the General forums, you can request the upgradation without providing the reference. You still need to be a professional homeopath to submit the request and have to provide the rest of the details. Upgrade requests based on the existing posts will be judged by the quality of your contribution. So don’t make posts just for the sake of getting the numbers.
If you are a patient or an attendant seeking guidance regarding homeopathy, just send us your username. All inactive Patient group members will revert to the base group of ‘Member’.
The details are to be sent to us at firstname.lastname@example.org . The decision to upgrade a user account to a desired level will rest in the hands of select Hpathy Moderators and Administrators.
We request all the forum members to follow the forum rules.
The link to the old forums is:
The old forums are archived, so members should post all threads here at the new forums.
