Hi Alan. Hope you are keeping well. Regret had to start this as a fresh thread (topic) as the original thread keeps logging me out when I try to post a reply.

At long last I had my appointment with a Maxillofacial Surgeon. Update is as follows :-  Mandible x-ray taken today confirmed that there is an infection just below the root of the 2nd molar [bottom left] and lack of sensitivity/pain suggests that this tooth is dead. He feels that although the abscess has flattened out and the soft tissue is shrinking this will not go away and will possibly re-occur unless the tooth is extracted. Would you be able to kindly advise on your recommendations or how to clear this root infection. Many thanks. Have a lovely weekend. regards

Hi Alan, Hope you are well. Comments noted and also I do appreciate your quick response.

[ Apologies for any confusion. Now re-posted response back to older thread as it is again accepting the post.]

Seems I have done the reverse. More recently I’ve been using low potency of Silicea 6C and only now a few doses of high potency Hepar Sulph 200C when abscess seemed to have fully drained.

In terms of symptoms the following applies :-

  • Just recently have noticed an early morning strange feeling like a dull ache in this tooth that recovers within a few hours. No toothache as such.
  • No fever or sensitivity to hot/cold temperatures or to pressure from chewing/biting.
  • 3 months ago had a large [2cm] abscess under jaw, but it had burst and now has drained away and is flat (no bump). Protruding soft tissue is still there but has been shrinking and occasionally leaks some blood (& possibly mixed with puss not certain). Currently no swelling or pain in neck, face, cheek or lymph nodes.

I’d have thought a review of above symptoms indicates no real issue. To me it really does seem like it is slowly recovering, but x-ray still shows an infection is present so maybe need to find out how to clear this remaining infection.

Would certainly welcome further suggestions from you.

Thanks. Have a great day. Regards.
