I had an enquiry from a patient who suffers from adrenal failure as a result of being on steroid therapy for chronic asthma. The side effects of which is insomnia. She is still on medication. What kind of results can you get with a case like this? Is there any pre-constitutional protocol that might help with this case? Thank you.

I generally use a daily LM remedy for someone like this–her vitality is low because of the steroid use, and that vitality can gradually return with a good constitutional match. Some practitioners also consider an isopathic approach as part of the treatment. That is, the steroid treatment is thought to have created an “imprint” on the vital force that’s unique to the steroid, and not directly related to the constitutional remedy, so a potentized hydrocortisone remedy may allow the vital force to rebound out of the “mistunement” related to the prescription med. After that a constitutional remedy allows the person to recover from the broader state of imbalance. Because I don’t use the latter approach very often, I can’t offer advice about potency on the isopathic approach, but you may consider contacting a friend versed in CEASE therapy and see what they suggest (it’s not overly complicated, but it may give you some idea about potency and repetition of dosing). Otherwise, a good constitutional (alone, without isopathy) should eventually do the work on its own. Best wishes to you and your client.

Thankyou, David. This is useful advice. I was planning to use LM as well and just going with whatever remedy came up. I would have thought that potentized hydrocortisone would anti-dote the steriods, which is not the intention while she is still on it. Not familar with the whole “imprint” and “mistunement” concept!
Other suggestions have been organ support remedies including liver and the adrenal gland remedies. Will check out CEASE therapy -thought it was mainly for treating autism. Seeing the patient next week. Will keep you updated! Kind regards
