RE: Hi This is Zakir,
Science graduate would like to start homeopathic practice can you please guide me, particularly how to prescribe dose.
Without training in homeopathy you can’t start a homeopathic practice. There are many schools available. Suppose someone said they wanted to start a surgical practice and asked you which scalpels to use. What would you say? Same thing. Homeopathy is a complex topic and requires years of study.

First of all you should study homeopathic fundamentals e. g.
- Hahnemann’s Organon of medicine 6th edition
- Kent’s Philosophy, Materia Medica and Repertory
- But in India it is not legal to practice medicine without a BHMS degree.
- But for becoming a true Homeopath it is not compulsory to have a degree. I have seen many BHMS degree holders which are practicing allopathy or something else.
- If you have interest in Homeopathy then start your Homeopathic studies now. HOMEOPATHY WELCOMES YOU WARMLY.
- If you have any further queries then you can contact me. Thanks.

The practice of homeopathy has flourished in India since 1829 and has been recognized by the government since 1948. The education required for homeopathic practice is regulated and consists of at least five and a half years of university study, and the degree is awarded after a year of internship. The graduate obtains the right to call himself a doctor and work in rural areas and cities, in government or private organizations, or engage in individual practice. Education, usually largely subsidized by the government, provides the student with the opportunity to become a responsible and qualified specialist in performing autopsies, simple operations, including removal of the appendix, birth assistance, treatment of recurrent typhoid, epidemic diseases, in the fields of rheumatology, neurology, cardiology, osteology, gastroenterology , dermatology, etc. Those familiar with homeopathy will understand that this list is by no means exhaustive, because each patient is treated for his unique symptoms, and not a nosologically classified disease.
