My 18 year old cat Caramelo has had what I thought was an eye infection for the last few weeks. I started him first on Pulsatilla because the discharge was yellow and all he was asking was to go outside. It is -30 C in Canada right now so I could not let him go out.
Last week I started him on colloidal silver one dose a day.
Today I realized his face was swollen on the right cheek. I looked inside his mouth and I noticed the space where the tooth used to be is green inside. I washed it with warm water and salt. I gave another dose of hepar sulphur 30c in water.
He has been hiding under my bed or under something all these days. I feel so bad I didn’t realize how serious it was. He also has been peeing in the corridors. I thought it was his cat litter so I changed the gritt but he keeps doing it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I took Caramelo to the vet. He did a blood test and diagnosed anemia and stage 3 kidney failure and also a heart murmur.
Caramelo was given an antibiotic Antirobe aquadrops 2ml once a day and a pain killer for 10 days Metacam 4kg dose once every 24 hs and Animo B-Plex 1ml twice daily. He also said he should be on an no protein diet special diet for kidney food.
He said the reccomended action would be to pull out all the upper molars that are not in good shape but surgery with his heart and kidney as they are would be very dangerous so I won’t do it.
The supuration continues it is profuse and very bad smelling. I have switched to Pyrogenium 200c I gave two doses today. The supuration had stopped so this is good that it is coming out. He is eating and drinking normally.
If you can let me know what else I should do let me know. Caramelo is 18 so I know he is a senior already. Nevertheless I want him to be healthy.

Hi Gabi, good call with Pyrogen! Hiding under the bed, yes, this is what I try to tell the “Skeptics” when they say that the only reason homeopathy works on pets is because of the “attention” they receive, not the remedies. “Attention?” I say. “You obviously don’t have a cat! They hide under the bed and all your ‘attention’ just makes them worse!” Idiots! Anyway, for kidney failure, I’m recommending Serum ang. 30C. It’s an odd remedy but Dana Ullman will sell it to you. Write to him at http://www.homeopathic.com It’s also possible Apis might help, though I don’t know. The problem isn’t that he can no longer urinate. He has incontinence. Hopefully Dr. Khalsa will give you a better answer. Let me know what she says.
