Hello all, would enjoy hearing your thoughts. I have a large german-shepherd type dog on a course of doxycycline for lyme disease; however we are about three weeks in and she is not responding very well to treatment. It seems she is developing some autoimmune responses to the lyme. However it seems to me her worst symptoms are these — they are better during the daytime, but get very pronounced in the evening after 7pm or so:
– nighttime low grade fever, and she feels very hot and seeks cool surfaces
– excessive, thick salivation
– apparent aches in joints and stiffness
– labored breathing
– sometimes, extreme itchiness
She is normally an anxious, insecure dog with a very poor immune system from a parvo episode when a puppy.
We are trying some nosodes for lyme shortly, but I wonder if anyone has any other thoughts for some remedies that might help these nighttime fever and breathing issues.
Appreciate any feedback, thank you.
